Mothball
The "Mothball" process refers to a maintenance program for vehicles being stored in our storage facilities for extended periods of time. The purpose of the maintenance process is to maintain the vehicles in an acceptable "new" condition, as prescribed by the Manufacturer.
A Computer Generated Report identifies the vehicles due for the 30 day cycle maintenance program on a daily basis. The Mothball process includes, but is not limited to, the following physical checks and procedures which are performed on these vehicles:
- Maintenance of the battery
- Checks on battery voltage and charge
- Maintenance of the transmission
- Checks on the wipers
- Visual checks for any leaks
- Maintenance on engine
- Check and maintain tyre pressure
- Check for any visible rust
- Wrap guard removal
Any defects or discrepancies are documented and recorded on our system and reconciled on a daily basis to ensure that the prescribed standards are maintained.
